He's a cool kid. He is very smart and he thinks a lot. He
can be sensitive; he is intuitive. He has all the tools a young person needs in
order to achieve, in order to make a difference in this world. What will
he do with that potential? It is difficult to say at this point in time. School
started in August and by the beginning of November he'd changed schools three
times, been suspended four times.

Teach Me!! Teach Me the Ways of Love |

The children of the street have been teaching me for three years. Now the
teens who travel great distances to serve poor communities are my professors.
When the children interact with the teens, my eyes are opened to fresh
possibilities. I have three more weeks of class and am looking forward to
further enlightenment.

When in the hands of those who are greedy and controlling, power is a
destructive force; true spiritual power on the other hand is a beautiful force
over which we exercise no control. It is derived from a source that dwells
within us that can affect the everyday activities of an ordinary person in
extraordinary ways.

What Happened on Churchman Avenue? |

Two blocks of Churchman Avenue in the rougher part of the inner city are now
being called an Oasis. We, who work and live here, gaze at our pretty street
with nicely manicured lawns and have difficulty recognizing our street since the
changes, amazed to realize still more changes are coming. Some of us are
receiving praise for creating change: we enjoy hearing the encouraging words,
but we know the true source of the change, and we want to shout to the world,
"We didn't do anything, but we know who did!"

Being confused is certainly not newsworthy. It's an everyday occurrence for
most of us. Confusion on the issue of prayer, however, is serious business and I
find the more I read about how to pray, the greater the disagreements on how to
pray become. I'm considering giving up reading...
